PMI Philippines Chapter First Tech Session for 2019 in Cebu
PMI Philippines Chapter-Cebu Region, conducted its first Tech Session for 2019 at Harold’s Hotel, Cebu. Attendees were treated with knowledgeable speakers sharing their experiences on enhancing essential skills (previously called soft-skills) along with a sumptuous snack buffet. And of course, one of the best parts of the event was the networking with other attendees benefitting their current, future projects, roles & opportunities. PMI Philippines Chapter aims to provide value to existing and upcoming members. The event was also attended by four PMI Philippines Chapter Board of Trustees emphasizing their support and commitment in supporting the region’s project management community.
Tech Session 2019-1
Held at the popular Harold’s Hotel on Saturday, April 27, 2019, topics presented were focused on the essential skills for a project manager that can make or break a project, and in most cases, are the hardest to learn versus technical skills. Kahlil Corazo, PMP & President of digital marketing company, Advenient Corp, was first to present his experience on the 16 things that worked for him on how to be here and now for family and work. Technology does help us get work done but it often consumes hours of family time and he shares his tactics on how to avoid this pitfall and achieve balance between work and family.

Speaker Arlene “Pinky” Israel Mante
The next speaker was ARLENE "Pinky" ISRAEL MANTE Head of Human Resource and Facilities Management - GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation. Her presentation was on the Leadership aspect of the Talent Triangle. She shared her insights & experiences on Franklin Covey’s “6 Critical Practices for Leading a Team” which equips first-level leaders with the essential skills and tools to get work done with and through other people. It was an energetic interactive session involving flipcharts and written responses from attendees resulting in a collaborative and very informative session.
