PMI Philippines Chapter Launches Cebu Academe Roadshows

Visits to Cebu Institute of Technology-University, University of San Jose Recoletos, and University of San Carlos Showcased PMI and Project Managment

To address the growing need for more project managers and further the awareness and value of the project management profession, PMI Philippines Chapter conducted project management roadshows at various universities in the Cebu area this past October and November 2018. Attended by nearly 400 students both at the undergraduate and masters level as well as faculty, the roadshow emphasized how students can capitalize on several learning and educational resources available to them through PMI’s Educational Foundation Program. Additionally, invited speakers provided insights on project management disciplines and how graduates can be better prepared to compete in today’s job market.

PMI Philippines Chapter completed its first two Tech Sessions in the Visayas/Mindanao (Vis/Min) Region further reinforcing the chapter’s strong presence in the Central Visayas! Members were treated to a full afternoon of networking, afternoon snacks, and dynamic speakers who discussed a wide range of project management disciplines. Tech Sessions are just one event brought to you by PMI Philippines Chapter in providing membership value to project management practitioners who may otherwise not make it to the Manila PMI events. Great Food, Prizes, and Fun-Filled Activities

The first ever Annual Christmas Party for PMI Philippines Chapter Vis/Min-based members was held on Sat, Dec 3rd at the Quest Hotel & Conference Center in Cebu. “This is another event bringing value to each membership” said Joe Rey, Associate Director, PMI Philippines Chapter, Vis/Min Region, “and we’re glad members took time from their busy holiday activities to attend.” About 50% of the Vis/Min membership base attended the party taking advantage of networking with fellow project management practitioners.

Year of Great Tech Sessions, Networking, and Learning!

PMI Philippines-Vis/Min Region closed out 2017 reflecting on the great Tech Sessions held throughout the year. With great speakers, food, and networking opportunities, PMI members in the Visayas participated with fellow project managers to further the growth in their profession and took advantage of the value offered by their PMI membership! 2018 promises more of the same, and then some!
